The BRING IT Forecaster predicts the outcome of any hypothetical 3-player Jeopardy matchup before a single clue is read. Pick a returning champion, an old college tournament finalist, and a Tournament of Champions winner from the 1990s — the model returns each player's pre-game probability of winning the game.
The forecast is built on BUTTREY Ratings — a single-number strength score for every Jeopardy player, derived from head-to-head Coryat performance against opponents of known skill. Every player who has appeared on the televised show is in the database, with their rating updated daily as new games air. From three players' BUTTREY ratings, the forecaster derives expected score differential, and from there, win probability — the same shape of model used by professional sports analytics teams to forecast games before they're played.
